Metral 4 Spindle Flat Edging Machine

Another beefy little machine from Metral designed to handle the demands of day-in day-out processing of flat edge. Having the same central conveyor design as the larger machines, the conveyor system features snap-on rubber pads mounted to polyamid support shoes (attached to two chains) which slide along anti-friction wear guides. Couple this with the central worm gear drive in the gear box, and you have a very smooth durable conveyor system.

Fitted with 4 wheels - one diamond wheel for flat edge, two fine grit arrissing wheels for front and back seams, one polishing wheel for edge polish - the machine can handle glass thicknesses up to 5/8” (15mm). Polishing function is pneumatic with encoder controls with self locking mechanism to hold the wheels in position until the next piece of glass arrives.
